Leaf mimic grasshopper in a frame

4" x 6" black, shadow box frame

An interesting looking grasshopper, that will remind you of autumn. The wing shape is different from most other grasshoppers, it almost looks like some leaf parts were glued to its back.

Like many other insects the grasshopper also uses camouflage as one of their prime defense mechanism, combined with their strong jumping legs and the ability to fly, the grasshopper is no easy target but is prey to many other insect predators. This grasshopper's diet mainly consists of vegetation from multiple plant sources

The leaf mimic grasshopper, from the Trigonopteryx genus, can be found in south and south-east Asia
