Damselflies in a Frame
A beautiful pair of Damselflies with deep blue colored wings. Interesting fact about damselflies is that there were here long before many other species, more than 300 million years ago! In the past some of them were as big as a hawk. They are also excellent predators and prey on mosquitoes. What not to love about them? Many damselflies have elaborate courtship behaviours. These are designed to show off the male's distinctive characteristics, bright coloring or flying abilities, thus demonstrating his fitness.
Damselflies are insects of the suborder Zygoptera in the order Odonata, and can be found anywhere in the world except Antarctica.
Don't hesitate to message me if you want the pair in any different display or position.
