Dotted Glory butterfly in a dome
Species Name: Asterope maackii
Common Name: Doted Glory
Origin: South America
Size: 3.5" Wooden Base x 4.5" high
This cute little South American butterfly is marked with a very distinctive pattern of black spots only observable within the Asterope species. Having a beautiful contrast between cold and warm colors, with the underside of the wings deserving no less attention, It's a perfect butterfly to be displayed in a dome.
Spotted glories spend their time in the vast rainforests of South America, they tend to be elusive, and nearly always encountered singly. Males are seen more often in the afternoon, when they perch on the foliage of trees, periodically making a short rapid flights to investigate passing butterflies.
I carefully displayed it in a small dome to make it look as close to the wildlife, and for you to be able to appreciate any angle of this butterfly
Small butterfly domes make excellent gifts, they don't take much space and look great on a desk or shelving.
